After the war he rode it back to Indiana where he crashed during his journey home. He left the broken parts in the ditch and drove it home. It was his main source of transportation until he ran it low on oil and seized the engine. At that point he removed the engine and started the rebuilding process and lost interest. He coated all of the parts in cosmoline and placed them in a barrel. The bike was kept in one of the sheds on the farm until it was placed in the barn loft where it stayed for many years until October of 2017. To start the project of putting it back together we gathered all of the parts we could find and started the journey to get it back on the road. The pipes, kick pedal, interior primary case, one gas cap and one grip were missing. The tires, spokes, clutch, primary chain, drive chain and the wiring had to be replaced. The generator, engine and transmission were rebuilt. The EL runs great and we took great care to not alter the look that we saw when it came out of the barn loft.
